Guggenheim Abu Dhabi will officially open to the public on December 11, 2026, marking another major milestone for Saadiyat Cultural District and strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a global arts and culture destination.

Announcing the opening date, the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) said the museum will serve as a home for modern and contemporary art, creating a space for cultural exchange and dialogue while showcasing artistic stories from the UAE and around the world.

Designed with a vision shaped by Abu Dhabi’s evolving cultural landscape, the museum aims to inspire new generations to engage with modern and contemporary art through exhibitions, collections and educational experiences.

The museum has been developed in partnership between the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation.

Part of the Saadiyat Cultural District

Developed in partnership between the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi joins a growing collection of world-class cultural institutions on Saadiyat Island, including:
