The Consul General of India in Dubai was illuminated with intellect and wisdom as prominent figures from diverse backgrounds converged to commemorate International Literacy Day 2023. Organized by KCS Foundation, this year’s event centered on the transformative potential of education, sustainable development, and global collaboration.

Mr. Ramkumar Thangaraj-Acting Consul General of India along with other dignitaries were present to mark the celebration. Speakers included Mr. Kamal Puri, who emphasized creative literacy, Mr. Zulfiquar Ghadiyali, advocating for peace and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, Dr. Raj Rana highlighting education’s transformative power, Mr. Nicholas Brain emphasizing kindness, and Professor Mansour Khan discussing the importance of education in the context of AI and technology. The even also covered the importance of education around sustainability and cyber security.

The event also highlighted the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as an important part of education. These goals show us how to create a better and fairer world.

The event recognized the dedication of teachers and literacy supporters, urging continuous learning, peace-building, and environmental protection. Youth Empowerment & Services Awards were given to young students. Organizers Pankaj Jha, Gautam Kumar, Sanjeet Jha, and Mrs. Menaka Shekhar reaffirmed their commitment to promoting literacy and quality education for all, emphasizing education as a fundamental human right. The event aimed to inspire positive change for future generations.
