The entire town seems to be talking about Artificial Intelligence (AI). Me. You. Everyone. And the UAE is taking the lead to boost the technology.
It has embraced AI in a big way: Planning to further expand and speed up AI research initiatives and build more specialized AI laboratories in the country.
The UAE Council for Artificial intelligence and Digital Transactions held this year’s first meeting on Tuesday, according to WAM.
In the first phase of this initiative, more than 260 AI experts graduated from a specialized course developed in co-operation with Kellogg College at the University of Oxford. This programme will arm graduates with skills required to use AI technologies.
Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, the minister of state for AI, digital economy and teleworking applications, said the UAE government has an extremely “advanced infrastructure”, to drive digital transformation and use AI.
The use of this technology will add up to 14 per cent to GDP of the UAE – equivalent to $97.9 billion – by 2030, research suggests.
During the recent meeting, the council’s subcommittees have laid out their plans to implement a raft of schemes. They have spelt out the main objectives for the next phase and presented the indicators of success, Wam has reported
