These three restaurants in Abu Dhabi awarded Michelin stars

Three restaurants in Abu Dhabi were awarded Michelin stars on Thursday, in the inaugural guide for the city. The list gives the emirate something to boast about alongside its glitzier neighbor Dubai, which was the first Middle East location to be recognized by Michelin.A total of 42 restaurants made the cut in the capital, with three winning one Michelin star. No restaurant in Abu Dhabi was given two stars and, as with Dubai, none were awarded three stars — something Michelin bestows for what it describes as “exceptional cuisine”.

The restaurants awarded one MICHELIN Star were 99 Sushi Bar and Restaurant, Hakkasan Abu Dhabi and Talea by Antonio Guida.
The Bib Gourmand category is a distinction awarded to establishments that provide an excellent value-for-money three-course meal. The MICHELIN Guide Abu Dhabi Bib Gourmand selection featured Almayass, Beirut Sur Mer, Otoro and Tazal. The Sommelier Award was given to Marlon Nuque of Zuma Abu Dhabi; the Welcome and Service Award was given to the team at Li Beirut in Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers; and the Young Chef Award was given to Luigi Stinga from Talea by Antonio Guida.
