UAE Lottery launches new lucky draw: What players need to know
UAE Lottery has rolled out a major update to its Lucky Day draw, introducing new rules, weekly draws and bigger prizes, but also shared payouts if more than one player wins.
The revamped format kicks off on Saturday, December 6, with a headline jackpot of Dh30 million and a boosted second prize of Dh5 million.
Weekly draws, new timeline
Lucky Day will now take place every Saturday at 8:30pm, replacing the old fortnightly schedule.
Ticket sales pause from 7pm to 8:30pm on draw nights, and resume immediately once the winning numbers are announced.
Players can buy tickets for multiple upcoming draws, either manually choosing numbers or using “Easy Pick” auto-selection.
How to play Lucky Day
A Dh50 entry allows players to select:
- Six numbers (1 to 31) representing “Days”
- One number (1 to 12) representing the “Month”
Each ticket also generates a Lucky Chance ID, automatically entering players into a Dh100,000 raffle with three guaranteed winners every week.
Jackpot odds unchanged
The Dh30 million jackpot still requires all seven numbers to match, with odds of:
1 in 8,835,372
Only one person has ever hit the previous jackpot — Indian expat Anilkumar Bolla, who won Dh100 million last year.
Under the new rules, the jackpot is shared equally if multiple players win.
Dh5 million second prize now split too
Matching all six “Days” numbers (but not the Month) wins the second prize.
Odds: 1 in 803,216
Just like the jackpot, this prize is now split among multiple winners, though no tie has happened in previous editions.
Other prize tiers
- Third prize – Dh100,000
Match 5 Days + Month
Odds: 1 in 58,902
Max payout: Dh15 million (up to 150 winners) - Fourth prize – Dh1,000
Match 5 Days or 4 Days + Month
Odds: 1 in 1,437
Max payout: Dh6.5 million - Fifth prize – Dh100
Match 3, 2, 1, or just the Month
Odds: 1 in 12.1
Max payout: Dh100 million
You can only win once per entry
A single entry can claim only the highest prize it qualifies for, not multiple tiers.
The only exception: you can win both a main draw prize and the Lucky Chance raffle on the same night.
Ticket prices and buying limits
- Dh50 per entry (including VAT)
- Up to 20 entries per transaction
- Up to five consecutive draws can be purchased at once
- Quick Buy/Easy Pick option available
Return to player
The average return to player (RTP) is 42.62%, excluding VAT, plus potential raffle winnings.
Lucky Day’s new weekly cycle, bigger payouts and shared prize structure aim to make the game more exciting, while also setting clearer expectations for players across the UAE.
