Looking for a meaningful family outing that’s fun, active and gives back? Beat Diabetes Family Event is back, and this year, it’s bigger than ever.

Taking place on Sunday, February 8, at Zabeel Park, and organised by Landmark Group, this community event will bring families together for a morning dedicated to health, wellness and movement, all under the theme “Step into a Healthier Tomorrow.”

Marking the UAE’s Year of the Family, this edition is set to be the first and largest health, wellness and fitness initiative held during the year, spotlighting the powerful role families play in building lifelong healthy habits.

Since launching in 2009, Beat Diabetes has grown into a nationwide movement, welcoming more than 165,000 participants across the Gulf. It’s simple but impactful message continues to resonate: Take the Test, Eat Healthy and Get Active.

What residents can expect on the day:

• A 2km community walk suitable for all ages
• Fitness and sports sessions
• Healthy food distribution
• Free blood glucose testing and health check-ups
• Vaccinations and health education activities
• Live entertainment
• A lively Kids Zone packed with fun and learning

For the little ones, the popular Superkidz programme returns, featuring interactive educational activities and the Superkidz Writing Competition, held in partnership with GEMS Education, with winners announced on the day.

With diabetes affecting nearly one in six adults in the Middle East, the event aims to raise awareness, encourage early prevention and help connect high-risk individuals with follow-up care, all in a family-friendly, welcoming setting.
