Abu Dhabi rolls out red carpet for I-Film Festival this weekend

Abu Dhabi is gearing up for a cinematic celebration as the I-Film Festival returns from April 11 to 13, promising three days of movie magic, cultural exchange and global creativity.

Organised by the Innovative Film Academy (IFA), the festival is all set to welcome filmmakers, industry experts and creative minds from around the world.

TV BRICS, the international media network, is jumping into the spotlight as an official media partner. The network will screen two of its in-house documentary productions in the competition line-up: “Uralian Anomaly” and “Partitura: Young Music of Russia.”

‘Uralian Anomaly’ takes viewers deep into Russia’s mineral-rich Ural region, exploring gold mining and geology through the lens of science and storytelling. The docu-project, written by Ksenia Komissarova and directed by Andrey Porshnyak, has already made waves at the “Rendezvous with Russia” festival.

‘Partitura’, on the other hand, is all about young musical prodigies and their journey through Russia’s All-Russian Competition of Young Composers. Expect raw talent, powerful performances and behind-the-scenes drama, all wrapped up in a compelling narrative.

The festival won’t just be about screenings, it’s a full-blown creative experience. On April 12, a high-powered panel discussion titled “Media, Education & Talent Development: Embracing Technological Advancement & Future Trends” will shine a spotlight on how tech is transforming the film industry. One of the speakers? TV BRICS’s own Konstantin Khasanov.

Other highlights include round-table talks, cinematography masterclasses, networking sessions, and chats with global cultural figures. From AI in animation to cutting-edge filmmaking tools — it’s a deep dive into the future of cinema.

Festival Director Upasana Mittal is thrilled about the second edition in Abu Dhabi. “Our first year was a smashing success,” she said. “This event is all about building global partnerships and celebrating innovation in film.”

The grand finale? A not-to-be-missed masterclass by legendary Indian composer Ilaiyaraaja, whose music has lit up more than 1,400 films.
