Abu Dhabi T10 2025: Pollard powers UAE Bulls to crucial win as playoff race heats up
Kieron Pollard produced a vintage late blitz to guide the UAE Bulls to a crucial three-wicket victory over the Ajman Titans in their final group-stage match of the Abu Dhabi T10 on Friday. The win keeps the Bulls’ playoff hopes alive, though they now depend on the Deccan Gladiators’ result against the Vista Riders.
Chasing 127, the Bulls overcame a shaky start after Wasim Akram struck twice in the opening over, removing Phil Salt and Rovman Powell. Tim David then flipped the script with a scintillating 40 off just 12 balls, hammering five sixes and two fours before Piyush Chawla halted the assault in the fourth over.
Sunil Narine kept the momentum flowing with a brisk 26 off 13, striking five boundaries before Chris Green dismissed him at 82/5. Romario Shepherd (19 off 11) added valuable runs, but it was Pollard who finished the job in true T10 style—smashing three towering sixes in the ninth over to remain unbeaten on 27 off 11 and seal the chase with an over to spare.
Earlier, the Titans pieced together a competitive 126/5, built on short but impactful contributions. Aneurin Donald (24 off 11) and Alex Hales (13 off 7) powered a 36-run opening stand. Riley Rossouw (26 off 12) and Joe Clarke (15 off 8) kept the tempo high, before Moeen Ali’s unbeaten 29 off 11—featuring two fours and two sixes—lifted the side to a strong finish. Qais Ahmad was the Bulls’ standout bowler with 2/23.
Royal Champs Break Through with First Win of the Season
The Royal Champs finally ended their winless run on Thursday night, securing a seven-wicket victory over the Northern Warriors.
Chasing 81, Aaron Jones top-scored with 20 off 11, supported by Mohammad Shahzad (19 off 15) and Quentin Sampson (15 off 13), as the Champs wrapped up the target in 8.4 overs. Azmatullah Omarzai was the Warriors’ best bowler with 2/13.
The Warriors struggled to accelerate after losing Colin Munro in the first over. They crawled to 13 in the powerplay as Daniel Sams ran through the top order with figures of 3/12. Dinesh Chandimal fell to Liam Dawson, while Johnson Charles (20 off 17) and Shimron Hetmyer (22 off 15) tried to lift the innings, but boundaries remained hard to come by.
The Champs return to action later today for their final group fixture against the table-topping Quetta Qavalry.
