Pakistan, you have your first female Grammy-winner. Arooj Aftab, the Brooklyn-based Pakistani singer, bagged her first-ever Grammy at the prestigious awards ceremony. 

 Arooj won the award for her song ‘Mohabbat’ in the Best Global Performance category.

In fact, her track Mohabbat also made its way to former US President Barack Obama`s annual summer playlist. What a flex!

Aftab moved to the United States in 2005 to study music at Beklee College of Music and released her first album ‘Birds Under Water’ in 2014.
