Connoisseurs of fashion, take heart! The inaugural edition of the official Dubai Fashion Week will take place from March 10-15 across Dubai, consolidating its position as a global fashion capital on a par with Paris, Milan, London and New York, the present four fashion capitals of the world. The Dubai Fashion Week evolves from the Arab Fashion Week, which held its 21st edition in October 2022. The shows will spotlight Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer collections of emerging and established designers from around the world and will feature men’s, women’s, ready-to-wear and couture collections. They are expected to facilitate new business opportunities between talent, brands and buyers.
The event will focus on the pillars of DUBAI, an acronym for Diversity, Unity, Business, Ambition, and Innovation. Dubai has a reputation as the regional fashion capital and luxury shopping hub owing to its prolific retail landscape, business-friendly framework and strategic location. The launch is being made possible by Dubai Design District (d3) and the Arab Fashion Council. Brands, designers and industry players will be able to hold runway shows, presentations, exhibitions, pop-ups, special celebrations and workshops in d3 and across Dubai. Details about the event will be revealed closer to the date.
Jacob Abrian, CEO of the Arab Fashion Council, said: “Dubai has arrived on the global fashion stage. Emerging and established creatives have shaped a distinct identity for the region that resonates far and wide. Our region’s fashion industry is entering a new chapter as we become increasingly active contributors to the global fashion narrative. Arab Fashion Council is proud to amplify this voice and partner with d3 and TECOM Group to launch Dubai Fashion Week, the official industry platform. Presenting Dubai as a global creative hub, Dubai Fashion Week will boost fashion exports and attract world-class investment.”
