Calling women of all ages: Celebrate Emirati Women’s Day with Dubai Mallathon

Dubai will mark Emirati Women’s Day 2025 with a special community walk and run at Dubai Mall on Wednesday, August 27, organised by the Dubai Sports Council.
The event, part of the ongoing ‘Dubai Mallathon’ initiative, is open to women of all nationalities and fitness levels, including the large Indian expat community in the UAE.
Held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the event celebrates the role of Emirati women in nation-building, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the General Women’s Union. This year’s theme, “Hand in Hand, We Celebrate 50 Years”, pays tribute to women’s contributions across education, culture, health, and leadership.
To make participation easy, the Council has created safe indoor walking and running routes inside Dubai Mall and other shopping destinations like Dubai Hills Mall, Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Deira, City Centre Mirdif, Dubai Marina Mall, The Springs Souk, Dubai Festival City Mall, and Festival Plaza.
The initiative is being organised under the directives of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Nation”, and represents a wider push to encourage community fitness while celebrating Emirati women’s achievements.
For Indian women living in Dubai and nearby emirates, the event offers a chance to join locals in a celebration of solidarity, health, and cultural pride.
