Dh100,000 up for grabs as Salik invites UAE artists in to redesign toll tags
Creative minds across the UAE have a new reason to get excited. Salik is offering Dh100,000 in prize money for a competition that invites artists to redesign its iconic toll tags with fresh, city-inspired ideas.
Launched in collaboration with the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, the ‘Erth Dubai Through Your Eyes’ competition calls on artists, designers, calligraphers, graffiti artists and young creatives to submit original designs that capture Dubai’s cultural diversity, heritage and creative energy.
Entries are open until January 19, 2026, with winners set to be announced during the Sikka Art & Design Festival, running from January 23 to February 1, 2026, in the Al Shindagha Historic Neighbourhood. The first-place winner will take home $15,000, followed by $7,000 for second place and $5,000 for third.
Submissions will be judged by a panel representing Salik, Dubai Culture and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Winning designs will become part of Salik’s growing design library, giving creatives the chance to see their work featured on tags used daily across Dubai.
Salik said the initiative aims to support emerging talent, encourage creative experimentation and strengthen public engagement with the brand, while reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global hub for culture, creativity and innovation.
All designs must be original, contemporary and unpublished, while respecting the values and traditions of the local community.
