His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced a brand new initiative – Great Arab Minds – to foster and encourage the brightest scientific minds of the country.
This Dh100 million program will be headquartered at the Museum of the Future. The museum is possibly the most apt place to house this initiative as it gears up to become the new centre of scientific progress in the country.
Great Arab Minds aims to create a space for the very best of Arab scientists, thinkers and innovators across prime fields to network and push forth their example for the next generation to take inspiration from. It is a celebration of the leading thinkers in the region and will maximise the impact of their ideas, in collaboration with global and local partners.
The five-year initiative will cover subjects such as physics, mathematics, software and data science, economics and higher education, and research. A committee of four Emirati Ministers will work towards identifying the talent pool and will invest in their work.
