Dubai Airports showcases inspiring art by People of Determination
Travellers passing through Dubai International Airport (DXB) can now pause for a moment of creativity and inspiration, thanks to a new art exhibition created by People of Determination from Mawaheb, a Dubai-based art studio.
Unveiled in Terminal 1, the exhibition features 12 vibrant canvases that reflect the unique perspectives, stories, and emotions of the artists. From bold abstracts to surrealist pieces, each work showcases raw creativity while celebrating inclusivity.
Art with a Purpose
The initiative is part of the UAE’s ‘Year of Community’, reinforcing Dubai Airports’ commitment to building spaces that welcome everyone.
Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports and a Mawaheb Ambassador, said:
“The artwork on display challenges perceptions, shifts mindsets, and leaves a lasting impression on the millions of travellers who pass through our airport. It’s a powerful reminder that every individual has a unique story to tell, and a voice that deserves to be heard.”
For the artists, the chance to showcase their work at one of the world’s busiest airports is transformative. Wemmy de Maaker, Founder and Managing Director of Mawaheb, explained:
“This exhibition is a testament to the incredible talent and spirit of our artists. Seeing their art displayed at DXB not only gives them a voice but also inspires possibility in everyone who sees it.”

A Partnership Rooted in Inclusion
Dubai Airports and Mawaheb have collaborated since 2017 to showcase the talents of people with determination. Earlier this year, Griffiths was named a Mawaheb Ambassador, further strengthening the bond between the airport and the studio.
By giving these artists a platform in one of the busiest global travel hubs, the exhibition not only spreads awareness of their talents but also inspires travellers to see the world through fresh eyes.
