Dubai Can: Refill your bottle now at over 30 water stations

As part of Dubai’s endeavour to preserve the environment and promote sustainability, Dubai Can, a novel initiative, was launched to reduce plastic consumption by residents.

This movement will allow residents to reduce  plastic consumption by encouraging them to replace single-use plastic water bottles with refillable ones which can be refilled at spots throughout Dubai.

Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced the Dubai Can initiative that aims to reduce the use of plastic across the Emirate.

As part of the initiative, water stations have been installed at over 30 locations, including Dubai: Madinat Jumeirah, Mall of the Emirates Metro Station, Quranic Park, Skydive Dubai, The Beach, The Greens & Views, Palm West Beach, Zabeel Park,  Al Ghubaiba Metro Station and many others. full list available on the Dubai can website.

Officials stressed that tap water across the UAE is absolutely drinkable. They also urged people to install additional filters at home to ensure that ageing pipes or tanks don’t affect the overall water quality.

Visit Dubai shares tips on how residents can participate in the initiative and get actively involved :

-Carry refillable water containers and encourage family and friends to do the same.

-Spread the word about the free drinking water stations around the city and encourage their use.

-Install water filters at home.

-Practice sustainable living  and inspire the community with your actions and choices- start by abandoning single-use plastics.
