Dubai Comedy Festival to return in April

As April approaches, get ready to laugh a lot since it’s the month when the Dubai Comedy Festival returns.This year, from Friday, April 12 to Friday, April 21, 2024, the event will return to Dubai for a new edition that promises to be even bigger and better than the last. Two of the biggest venues in town, the Coca-Cola Arena and the Dubai Opera, will host the comedians’ performances.

Gad Elmaleh :

The well-known French comedian Gad Elmaleh is coming back to the city to make you laugh aloud on Friday, April 12 and 13 at the Dubai Opera. He has starred in multiple films, including as Coco and Priceless, and was chosen France’s funniest guy.

Al Murray :

Al Murray, a well-known comedian from Britain, will be back in Dubai on April 15 to play at the Dubai Opera. In 2003, The Observer named him one of the 50 funniest acts in British comedy. In 2007, viewers of Channel 4’s 100 Greatest Stand-Ups ranked him as the 16th best stand-up comedian.

Frank Skinner :

An experienced English comedian, actor, presenter, and writer is also on the Dubai Opera stage. The date of his highly anticipated performance is April 15. With his forty years of expertise on the comedy circuit, you can be sure that you’ll be laughing uncontrollably.

Chris Distefano :

Chris Distefano is expected to sell out the Dubai Opera on April 16 after selling out gigs at Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall. Prefer to get your laugh on before the date? For some funny entertainment, see his Netflix programmes “Size 38 Waist” and “Speshy Weshy.”

Amer Zahr :

On April 17, comedian Zahr, a Palestinian-American, will take the Dubai Opera stage with his ten years of hilarious antics. Anticipate a hilarious and thoughtprovoking evening filled with laughs. In addition, Zahr is the author of the book Being a Palestinian Makes Me Smile and the documentary We’re Not White.

Spencer and Vogue :

This husband and wife comedy team will be appearing live at the Dubai Opera on April 19. Unlike their well-known podcasts, this live performance will feature uncut comedy about their life. Yes, this also includes the “side-eye” sorts of things, like Spencer’s fixation on James Blunt and their mutual rivalry, which has served as the foundation for their partnership. With over 25 million podcast downloads between them, you can be sure that this pair will have you laughing so hard you will cry.

Mo Gilligan :

British comedian Mo Gilligan will take the stage on April 19 and showcase his diverse spectrum of humour. His road into comedy started when he began sharing his amateur comedy videos on social media. However, Mo achieved international recognition in 2017 when he joined The Big Narstie Show as a cohost, and he hasn’t looked back. Anticipate a variety of humorous activities,including physical comedy, musical comedy, and grime comedy, to occur on stage.

Anubhav Singh Bassi :

Known by his stage name Bassi, Indian comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi has a large fan base on the internet and is scheduled to present his new act “Kisi Ko Batana Mat” in Dubai as part of the festival on April 20 in Dubai Opera. He has toured more than 35 locations, received more than 200 million views on his YouTube videos, and even starred in the Bollywood movie Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. Although the lineup of comedians from around the world has already been revealed, tickets have not yet gone on sale.
