It’s raining luck at Dubai Duty Free, with a young Indian expat and a first-time Emirati player walking away with life-changing prizes this week.

Just four months into his first job in Dubai, 29-year-old Sreeraj MR from Kerala has scooped up a share of the $1 million Millennium Millionaire jackpot. The Karama resident, working as an accounts assistant, will pocket 25 per cent of the prize, while his colleague Pradeep Chalatan, who had been trying for over a decade,  takes home the rest.

Not to be outdone, 22-year-old Emirati Maryam Fahad Al Nowais from Abu Dhabi became the talk of the town after her first-ever ticket in the Finest Surprise draw landed her a flashy Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 43 coupe in striking Sunny Yellow.

Maryam, who works in banking, bought the winning ticket at Dubai International Airport just weeks ago.

And the lucky streak didn’t stop there,  three more Indian expats also scored big, driving away with a BMW car and two superbikes.
