Dubai Fitness Challenge returns in October: Here are the big events to look out for
Dubai is getting ready to move again as the Dubai Fitness Challenge returns for its 10th edition, bringing a month of free fitness activities, community events and outdoor experiences to the city.
The 2026 edition will run from October 31 to November 29, giving residents and visitors 30 days to get active, try something new and take part in some of Dubai’s biggest sporting events.
And if you’ve been waiting for the return of Dubai Run, Dubai Ride or the city’s giant yoga session, there are already several dates to mark in your calendar.
When is the event?

The 10th edition of Dubai Fitness Challenge will take place from:
October 31 to November 29, 2026
The citywide initiative will feature free fitness classes, sporting events and activities aimed at getting people moving throughout the month.
Popular Fitness Villages will also return, providing open-air spaces where participants can join free classes, games, challenges, giveaways and other activities.
Key dates
Here’s when some of the biggest events are scheduled to take place.
November 1: Dubai Ride

Get on your bike on November 1 as Dubai Ride returns for another huge cycling event.
The event will transform some of Dubai’s major roads into a car-free cycling route, including Sheikh Zayed Road.
The main route stretches for 12km, taking cyclists past some of the city’s famous landmarks, including Dubai Opera, Burj Khalifa and the Museum of the Future.
There’s also a shorter 4km Downtown route, making it a more accessible option for families and people who are new to cycling.
November 7 and 8: Dubai Stand Up Paddle Board

If cycling isn’t your thing, head to Hatta Dam on November 7 and 8 for two days of stand-up paddleboarding.
The free event is open to participants of different ages and abilities, with the surrounding Hatta mountains providing a dramatic backdrop.
It’s a chance to combine exercise with a change of scenery — and get out of the city for the day.
November 22: Dubai Run

One of the biggest dates on the Dubai Fitness Challenge calendar is November 22, when Dubai Run returns to Sheikh Zayed Road.
The free event has previously attracted more than 200,000 participants, turning one of Dubai’s busiest highways into a giant running and walking track.
Participants can choose between a 5km Downtown route and a longer 10km route along Sheikh Zayed Road.
You don’t have to be a serious runner either, participants can walk, jog or run at their own pace.
November 29: Dubai Yoga

The month-long challenge wraps up on November 29 with Dubai Yoga.
The large-scale sunset yoga event will take place at Zabeel Park, bringing together beginners and experienced practitioners for an evening of movement and mindfulness.
It’s a calmer way to finish 30 days of activity, with yoga, breathing exercises and community at the centre of the event.
What else can you expect?

The headline events are only part of Dubai Fitness Challenge.
Throughout the 30-day programme, residents can expect a range of activities designed to make exercise more accessible and social.
The returning Fitness Villages will act as community hubs, with free classes, games, challenges and experiences for people of different fitness levels.
The idea behind the challenge remains simple: encourage people to build more movement into their everyday lives.
Dubai Fitness Challenge turns 10
Dubai Fitness Challenge was launched in 2017 by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai.
What began as a citywide push encouraging people to exercise for 30 minutes a day for 30 days has grown into one of Dubai’s biggest annual fitness programmes.
Now in its 10th edition, the challenge has evolved into a month-long celebration of sport, fitness, wellbeing and community.
