Dubai makes culinary history with two three-Michelin-starred restaurants

The Michelin Guide 2025 dished out major accolades to the city’s top culinary players. In a historic twist, not one but two restaurants in Dubai have scored the ultra-prestigious three Michelin stars, the highest honour in gastronomy.

Swedish sensation FZN by Björn Frantzen and Indian fine-dining restaurant Tresind Studio are now at the top table of world cuisine. And here’s the spicy bit: Tresind Studio is also the first-ever Indian eatery in the world to get a three-star rating. Bravo, Chef Himanshu and crew. That’s what we call a flavour-packed revolution.

“Dubai is now a global culinary capital,” declared Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guide, as he revealed the 2025 list at a glittering ceremony at Address Sky Views on May 22.

Here’s the hot dish on who made the Michelin cut:

THREE MICHELIN STARS

  • FZN by Bjorn Frantzen – Nordic brilliance with Dubai flair
  • Tresind Studio – India’s first-ever three-star wonder.

TWO MICHELIN STARS

  • Il Ristorante – Niko Romito
  • Row on 45
  • Stay by Yannick Alleno

  • Jamavar – Luxe Indian flavours
  • Manao – Thai elegance gets a starry nod

11 Woodfire, Ossiano, Smoked Room, Avatara, La Dame de Pic and more, still sizzling with star power.

MICHELIN GREEN STARS – For Sustainability

Boca, Lowe, and Teible kept their eco-friendly badges of honour.

BIB GOURMAND – Great Eats Without the Splurge

Five new wallet-friendly stars joined the party:

  • Hawkerboi (street food fans, rejoice!)
  • Harummanis, Khadak, Sufret Maryam, and Duo Gastrobar (Creek Harbour)

That brings the total to a whopping 22 Bib Gourmand restaurants across the city.
