Dubai malls to turn into walking tracks next month, and everyone’s invited

Got 30 minutes and a pair of comfy sneakers? This August, your favourite Dubai malls are doubling as air-conditioned fitness hubs, and it’s all part of a brand-new wellness push launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.

The Dubai Mallathon, running from August 1 to 31, will turn seven of the city’s top malls into early-morning walking and jogging tracks, open daily from 7am to 10am. The aim? To get everyone moving, no matter their age or fitness level, and make exercise as simple as a morning stroll before your coffee run.

Participating venues include Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Mirdif, Dubai Hills Mall, and more. The initiative, which aligns with the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 33, is about making daily activities an effortless part of life, especially during the sweltering summer.

“With Dubai Mallathon, we’re turning familiar spaces into places that inspire movement, connection, and better habits,” Sheikh Hamdan said, encouraging the public to join the effort for a healthier, more active Dubai.

“Every step you take moves us closer towards a healthier city.”

Organised by the Ministry of Defence and Dubai Sports Council, the Mallathon is open to residents, senior citizens, kids, and even mall employees. Registered participants will get access to tracking tools, wellness stations, kids’ zones, and stretching sessions, all for free.

Even better? Some restaurants and retailers will offer health-focused deals to keep you energised and on track.
