Dubai Ride returns: Sheikh Zayed Road to transform into giant cycling track again

Cyclists of all ages and abilities are invited to mark their calendars as the sixth edition of the spectacular Dubai Ride, presented by DP World, returns on Sunday, November 2, as a flagship event of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC).

The event, which transforms a section of the iconic Sheikh Zayed Road into a massive, traffic-free cycling track, offers participants a unique chance to pedal past landmarks like the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Water Canal, and the Museum of the Future.

Route Options and Speed Laps

This year’s event caters to every fitness level with two primary routes:

  1. 4km Family Route: A fun, family-friendly loop through Downtown Dubai, suitable for all ages.
  2. 12km Scenic Ride: The full Sheikh Zayed Road experience, recommended for more experienced riders.

For advanced cyclists looking to push their limits, the Dubai Ride Speed Laps returns on the 12km route. These participants must be capable of maintaining a minimum average speed of 30 km/h or more.

  • Bib Collection: October 29 – November 1 at Zabeel Park’s 30×30 Fitness Village

A Celebration of Community and Growth

Organised by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and Dubai Sports Council, the 2025 ride takes place during the UAE’s ‘Year of Community.’

Saeed Hareb, Secretary-General of Dubai Sports Council, highlighted the event’s impressive growth, noting an 85% increase in participation since its debut. Ahmed Al Khaja of Dubai Festivals and Retail added that the event “creates shared moments of pride and achievement,” while DP World’s Abdulla Bin Damithan expressed pride in supporting the inclusive experience of cycling past Dubai’s landmarks.

The event ensures full support for Riders of Determination, providing hand cycles, tandem bikes, and adapted bicycles.

Dubai Ride is supported by Commercial Bank of Dubai, Decathlon, RTA, Huawei, Mai Dubai, and Talabat, among others.
