Dubai to host largest aquatics championship in event’s history next month
The UAE Aquatics Federation has officially confirmed that the Dubai International Aquatics Championship (DIAC 2026) will take place from March 27 to April 6, at the Hamdan Sports Complex.
The upcoming edition is set to be the largest in the event’s history, with more than 2,000 athletes from over 40 countries expected to compete.
Official world aquatics recognition
DIAC 2026 holds official recognition from World Aquatics, ensuring that all results are internationally accredited.
The championship will also serve as a ranking pathway toward the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, increasing its importance for national federations and emerging international talents aiming to qualify.
All races and technical operations will be conducted in line with international standards, across multiple age categories and disciplines.
New record programme introduced
For the first time, the Organising Committee has introduced an official DIAC Record Programme. Championship records will be established in selected 50m and 100m events across the four strokes.
Athletes who break official DIAC records will receive financial rewards and official record certificates, adding a new competitive dimension to the 2026 edition.
With participation expected from leading emerging talents and national teams across the Arab region, Asia and Europe, DIAC 2026 further positions Dubai as a key global destination for international aquatics competitions.
