Dubai’s best decorated Ramadan homes: Win Dh100,000 in citywide competition

Dubai residents have a golden opportunity this Ramadan, quite literally.

A citywide home decoration competition is now open for entries, offering a top cash prize of Dh100,000 and rewarding 15 winners for transforming their homes into glowing tributes to the Holy Month.

Now in its second year, Dubai’s Best Decorated Ramadan Homes competition invites families across the emirate to light up their façades with creative displays celebrating Ramadan’s values of generosity, togetherness, and community.

The initiative is organised by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, in partnership with Emarat Al Youm, as part of the broader Ramadan in Dubai campaign.

Residents have until March 11, 2026, to submit their entries.

How the cash rewards break down

A total of Dh400,000 will be distributed across 15 winners:

  • 1st place: Dh100,000
  • 2nd place: Dh80,000
  • 3rd place: Dh60,000
  • 4th place: Dh40,000
  • 5th place: Dh20,000
  • 10 additional winners: Dh10,000 each

The substantial prize pool adds serious incentive for families to go beyond basic string lights and create visually striking Ramadan-themed displays.

More than just decorations

According to organisers, the competition builds on a long-standing Gulf tradition of adorning homes during Ramadan, elevating it into a citywide celebration of light, design and Emirati cultural heritage.

Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, when one home decorates, neighbours are inspired to follow, creating illuminated streets that reflect the spirit of Ramadan.

Ibrahim Shukrallah, Editor-in-Chief of Emarat Al Youm, added that the publication will spotlight participating homes, giving entrants added exposure.

How to enter the contest

Participation is open to all residents within Dubai. To enter:

  1. Decorate the front facade of your home with Ramadan-themed lighting and décor.
  2. Film a creative video showcasing your display, reflecting the themes of the Year of Family.
  3. Upload the video to your public Instagram account.
  4. Use the hashtag #Dubai_Best_Decorated_Ramadan_Homes_2026 and tag @branddubai.

Submissions close on March 11, 2026.

Citywide celebration

Beyond the prize money, organisers say the competition serves a broader purpose, creating a living archive of how Dubai’s diverse communities express cultural identity and shared values during Ramadan.

Every decorated home contributes to the atmosphere of the city. What begins as a family project can quickly transform an entire street, fostering neighbourly connections and strengthening community bonds.

For families looking to take on a meaningful Ramadan project this year, the competition offers something rare: the chance to celebrate tradition, connect with others, and potentially walk away with a life-changing cash prize.
