Mohammad Odeh, chairman of the International Astronomical Centre, has said that the month of Dhu Al-Hijjah is likely to begin on Thursday, June 30, according to state news agency WAM. Meanwhile, the centre has announced that July 9 is likely to be the first day of Eid Al Adha across most Islamic countries.
Official Eid holidays for the country’s public and private sector are yet to be announced. Meanwhile, Kuwait has said that all its state bodies and ministries will be on a nine-day Eid holiday from Sunday, July 10 until Thursday, July 14.
Muslim pilgrims perform the annual Hajj pilgrimage during the Islamic month of Dhu Al-Hijjah, the last month of the Islamic calendar. Eid Al Adha, which falls on the 10th day of Dhu Al-Hijjah is an annual festival celebrated by Muslims around the world, marked by special Eid prayers.
