Emirati mountaineer Rashid Ghanem Al Shamsi has proudly raised the UAE flag atop Mount Elbrus (5,642m), Europe’s tallest mountain, after braving snowstorms, freezing winds, and treacherous terrain in Russia’s Caucasus range.

Despite the extreme conditions, Al Shamsi persevered to complete the ascent, calling the achievement a symbol of willpower and national pride.

“I dedicate this accomplishment to my country, the UAE, and to everyone who believes that willpower makes the impossible possible,” Al Shamsi said after reaching the summit.

Part of the famed Seven Summits, Mount Elbrus is considered one of the world’s toughest climbs, and Al Shamsi’s feat highlights the spirit of UAE youth and their growing presence on the global adventure stage.
