ePlane that can fly you over traffic bottlenecks showcased at expo 2020

Negotiating nightmarish traffic and commuting on city roads is getting riskier by the day.
Imagine flying over the bottlenecks and reaching your destination, without encountering any jam.
The ePlane, a flying taxi running on electricity, could be the solution to commute-related problems. It can also decongest roads and reduce the chaos.
The ePlane Company showcased the ePlane at the Indian pavilion at Dubai Expo 2020. It is built with an aim to develop electrical transportation system to ferry intracity passengers. Some versions of this will also be used as a cargo for quick transportation in the future.
The company was founded in 2017 by Professor Satya Chakravarthy, Department of Aerospace Engineering, IIT Madras, and Pranjal Mehta, a 2019 IIT Madras graduate with an aim to take their futuristic technology to a global level and reaching markets worldwide.
The ePlane can reach an altitude of 1,500ft, cover a range of 200km in one complete charge and reach up to a speed of 160kmph.
The prototype was recently tested and the first cargo of the plane will be ready to take-off next year. The passenger plane is expected to make its maiden flight in 2024.
