Fireworks, concerts and culture: The UAE rolls out a week of events celebrating Kuwait

The UAE is set to light up with concerts, cultural showcases and family-friendly festivities as it marks its longstanding ties with Kuwait through a week-long celebration starting Thursday, January 29.

Titled “UAE & Kuwait: Brothers Forever,” the programme will bring social, cultural and entertainment events to all seven emirates, celebrating a relationship that dates back to the early days of the UAE’s formation. Kuwait was among the first nations to support the UAE’s union in 1971 and one of the earliest to establish diplomatic relations, with embassies opening in both countries in 1972.

The celebrations open with the UAE-Kuwait Media Forum, which will spotlight shared milestones, honour influential figures and feature discussions with leading diplomatic and cultural voices. This will be followed by the UAE-Kuwait Economic Forum on February 2, focusing on strengthening trade ties and exploring new investment opportunities.

Beyond the forums, the week is packed with events designed for residents and visitors alike. Kuwaiti citizens arriving in the UAE during the celebrations will also receive special welcomes and souvenirs.

What’s happening around the country

Abu Dhabi
The capital kicks things off with Kuwait’s Timeless Nights concert at ADNEC on January 29, featuring Nabil Shuail, Ahlam, Eida Al Menhali and Abdulaziz Al Duwaihi. Visitors can expect sailboat parades along the waterfront, daily drone shows at Yas Bay Waterfront, special discounts at Yas Island attractions, and cultural events across museums, malls and heritage sites.

Dubai
Dubai’s celebrations include a Kuwaiti concert titled Timeless Nights at Burj Park on January 30, starring Hussain Al Jassmi, Mutref Al Mutref, Balqees and Khaled Al Mudhafar. Kite Beach will host Kuwait at Home, blending live music and cuisine, alongside aerial displays by Fursan Al Emarat, classic Kuwaiti film screenings, cultural exhibitions and fireworks at Burj Al Arab and Dubai Festival City.

Fujairah
Landmarks across the emirate will be illuminated throughout the week, while the Fujairah Festival at Fujairah Castle hosts Kuwait on January 31 with art showcases, cultural performances, interactive shows and a home-business market.

Ras Al Khaimah
RAK will feature illuminated landmarks, a joint UAE–Kuwait concert on February 4, and a Kuwaiti Food Festival at Al Marjan Island from January 29 to February 1, offering traditional cuisine, games and heritage activities.

From drone shows and fireworks to food festivals and concerts, the week-long programme is a celebration of shared history, and an opportunity to get out and explore what’s happening across the UAE.
