Flights back on track at Dubai airports after weather delays, travellers urged to check flight status ahead of journey
Some flights at Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC) were cancelled or delayed on Friday due to adverse weather conditions.
In an update, Dubai Airports said operations at both airports have returned to normal, with flights now operating as planned. Only a limited number of connecting flights were still being cleared, it added.
Travel advisory
Passengers travelling through DXB have been advised to check their flight status with airlines, plan their journeys and allow extra travel time due to weather-related road conditions.
Emirates urged passengers to arrive at the airport at least four hours before departure, with First and Business Class customers using Chauffeur Drive advised to expect pickups one hour earlier than scheduled. The airline also encouraged travellers to check in online, ensure contact details are updated and use self-service options where available.
Flydubai issued similar advice, asking passengers to plan extra time to reach DXB, check in online and update their contact details. The airline also highlighted the availability of Home or City Check-in services, as well as self-service kiosks at Terminal 2 for faster baggage tagging, check-in and bag drop.
Dubai Airports also recommended using the Dubai Metro where possible, following real-time traffic updates and monitoring flight information screens at the airport to ensure a smooth and safe journey.
