Free tennis, big stars and family fun is back at Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open

If you’ve ever wanted to watch world-class women’s tennis without spending a dirham, this one’s for you.

The Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open is returning to Zayed Sports City from January 31 to February 7, and it’s serving up way more than just matches, including free entry days, kid-friendly fun, and festival vibes all week long.

Here’s a breakdown on how to enjoy it for free (or close to it)

Free-entry Day

Mark your calendar for Saturday, January 31. Entry is absolutely free, and it’s not just any day.

What you’ll get to see:

  • The Draw Ceremony live on the Village Stage
  • First-round match announcements
  • A top tennis star will be in attendance
  • Full access to the Tennis Village

Basically, it’s the perfect start to the tournament, even if you don’t usually watch tennis.

Kids Get In Free

From February 2 to February 4, children enter free, making this one of the most family-friendly sporting events in the UAE.

There’s a dedicated Kids’ Play Area, games, activities, and plenty of space for little fans to burn energy while you soak up the action.

Catch the Fun at Tennis Village

Even if you never step near Centre Court, the Tennis Village is worth a visit.

Think:

  • Giant Jenga, Plinko and arcade-style games
  • Art installations and creative workshops
  • Skill challenges like Serve n’ Strike and Tennis Swing Stations
  • Basketball clinics and interactive sports zones

Memorabilia collectors can grab a Mubadala Village passport and collect stamps from activities,  and yes, you could also walk home with some exciting prizes.

A First for Abu Dhabi: Wheelchair Tennis

New for 2026, the tournament introduces a Wheelchair Tennis Invitational running February 5–7.

Expect:

  • Singles, doubles and mixed doubles matches
  • Afternoon sessions
  • Coaching clinics led by elite wheelchair tennis athletes

It’s inspiring, inclusive, and a must-watch addition to the tournament.

Star Power All Week Long

On court, the lineup is stacked:

  • Elena Rybakina (2022 Wimbledon champion)
  • Defending champion Belinda Bencic
  • Fan favourite Paula Badosa
  • Grand Slam winners, Olympians, and rising stars

Tickets start from Dh30 and are available on Platinumlist, but if you plan it right, some of the best experiences come free.

Whether you’re going for the tennis, kids’ activities, or just the vibes, the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open proves you don’t need a big budget to enjoy a world-class sporting event.
