From lab-grown meat to live culinary demonstrations: Check out what’s cooking at Abu Dhabi’s Global Food Week
Abu Dhabi is getting ready to serve up a unique mix of innovation, tradition, and sustainability at the second edition of Global Food Week, taking place from October 21–23 at ADNEC.
The event promises to bring together farmers, food innovators, scientists, chefs, and global industry leaders, all focused on shaping how we’ll grow, eat, and share food in the future.
For UAE residents, this isn’t just another business summit. It’s a chance to explore food tech, meet innovators, attend talks, and enjoy cultural and culinary showcases as well as exciting investment opportunities that could shape what lands on your plate in the years ahead.
A Global Food Festival with a Purpose
Abu Dhabi is using Global Food Week as a platform to tackle big questions:
- How do we feed a growing global population sustainably?
- How can we use technology to produce food with less impact on the planet?
- What role can the UAE play in shaping the future of agriculture and food security?
“Global Food Week reflects Abu Dhabi’s commitment to building sustainable food systems and improving global food security,” said Dr Tariq Ahmed Al Ameri, Acting Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA).
He stressed the importance of collaboration between the private sector, innovators, and governments to make food supply chains more resilient and ensure access to healthy, affordable food for all.
What’s in Store for Visitors
Last year’s inaugural event attracted 34,000 visitors, hosted 1,900 brands, and generated Dh6.2 billion in business deals. This year, the stakes are even higher, and so is the excitement.

Spotlight on Emirati Dates
The humble date takes centre stage again this year at the Abu Dhabi Date Palm Exhibition, which has grown into an international marketplace for the iconic fruit.
According to Dr. Abdelouahhab Alboukhari Zaid, Secretary-General of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, the exhibition connects local farmers with global buyers, supports new products and packaging, and helps Emirati dates reach more tables around the world.
More Than an Exhibition
For Abu Dhabi, Global Food Week is about bringing the world together to build a more secure food future.
The event also shines a light on Abu Dhabi’s role as a leader in agricultural technology and food innovation, turning the emirate into a global hub where ideas and investments meet.
