Dubai is set to groove to the sounds of early 2000s nostalgia as Akon, one of R&B’s biggest global icons, takes centre stage at SLS Dubai this November.

The five-time Grammy-nominated artist behind timeless hits like Lonely, Smack That, Don’t Matter, and Beautiful will perform at Privilege, the ultra-luxury rooftop club perched 75 floors above Business Bay, on Sunday, November 2.

The event promises a night packed with good vibes, high energy, and breathtaking skyline views. Known for his electrifying performances and crowd connection, Akon’s Dubai show will take fans on a nostalgic journey through his chart-topping hits and collaborations with some of the biggest names in music, from Eminem to David Guetta.

Before the main show kicks off, guests can join an exclusive Burj Khalifa Terrace pre-party from 8pm till late, complete with an open bar, live grill stations, and pass-around canapes. It’s the perfect warm-up to an epic evening of music, food, and glamour.

Once the clock strikes 11pm, the night truly comes alive. DJ Ona and DJ Slim will set the tempo before Akon hits the stage for his headline performance. The afterparty will continue into the early hours of Monday with DJ TMak spinning feel-good tunes long after midnight.

Dubai’s live music scene has been on fire this year, and Akon’s arrival is another major addition to the city’s star-studded calendar. Fans can also look forward to Calvin Harris, Pitbull, and Halsey performing before the end of 2025.
