Here’s how you can head over to the FIFA World Cup 2022

SIIIIIIUUUUUU! The initial batch of FIFA World Cup 2022 tickets are on sale.

A limited number was made available to resident and migrant workers in the country at a discounted price of $11(approximately Dh40). The process to enter the draw is open to everyone, so here’s all you need to know on how to bag a ticket to the World Cup.

Step 1: Create an account

To apply for the Qatar World Cup tickets, the very first thing you need is a ticketing account on the FIFA website.

Once registered, you will be presented with the chance to apply for individual match tickets, a four-stadium ticket series or a team specific ticket series.

Step 2: Pick your ticket

If you’re opting for individual match tickets, you will be presented with the full list of fixtures in date order, from the group stage till the final. The draw for the World Cup isn’t fixed till April 1, and the deadline for the ticket applications is February 8.

For the single match tickets, you can apply for up to six tickets per game and up to 60 tickets across the entirety of the tournament.

The four-stadium ticket series option bundles four individual tickets, at four different stadiums, on FOUR consecutive days. Sounds like a dreammmm. Similar to the individual match tickets, each applicant can apply for up to six four-stadium ticket series.

Now we get into the good stuff. The team specific ticket series enable fans the opportunity to apply for tickets for certain team. Three four and seven tickets are available. The three-ticket bundle includes only the three group games, while the four-ticket set consists of the group games and the last-16; and seven tickets encompasses the entire tourney.

Here’s the cool part; even if your chosen team does not make it out of the group stages and you purchase the four-ticket series, you will still attend the last-16 match with a valid ticket. Even better if you get the seven-ticket set as you’ll be able to attend each of the games regardless of your team being eliminated in the prior round.

Step 3: Ticket Price

Hehe, here’s the make-or-break factor. The prices vary (obviously) based on the round and category. There are three ticket categories: Category 1,2 and 3. There are also Accessibility Tickets exclusive for those with disabilities and limited mobility.

Deadline for ticket application

Those interested in obtaining tickets for the Qatar World Cup need to register and submit their selections before February 8. You will not be charged any money for the tickets at this stage.

Once FIFA completes its random selection draw, if you win you will be notified by email which tickets you obtained have been allocated with further information about the payment. Applicants won’t be notified earlier than March 8.

Chances of receiving selected tickets

Given the huge demand for World Cup tickets, there is no guarantee you will be allocated the tickets you applied for. As FIFA explains on the ticket website: Each ticket application can either be completely successful (with all tickets requested being allocated), partially successful (with only part of the tickets requested being allocated), or unsuccessful (with no tickets requested being allocated).

Excited yet? Time to get the ball rolling with the applications.
