Prince William is all set to visit the UAE next week to be a part of the National Day celebrations at the UK Pavilion in the Expo on February 10. It’s the British Royal’s first official solo visit to the country, during which he will learn about the country in greater depth and build upon the friendly relations that the two nations share. 

His passion for wildlife and the natural world is resonant of the vision His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, UAE’S founding father, had. 

He will highlight two Royal Foundation programmes: United for Wildlife and the Earthshot Prize, of which the Expo and DP World are collaborators.

The British expatriate community in Dubai is alive with excitement and lots of thoughts about their Prince coming to the city, along with some disappointment about missing a chance to see the uber stylish Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine Middleton, bring her fashion A-game. 

“Both the UK and UAE are great countries. I hope that William’s visit will start a new chapter between the two countries,” said Lisa Roberts, a teacher at North London Collegiate School. “We are looking forward to his visit but I am sad that Kate won’t be coming. The style and glamour quotient will be missed for sure!” 

“The excitement is very high as our prince is coming. Being an expat here, it is quite emotional as someone from our homeland is coming,” said Natasha Morgan, another long standing British expatriate. “We will be listening to him at the Expo. We just hope he gets some time to meet us here. He is a great family man and we all need to learn family values from him.”
