Michelin-starred chefs to cook up a storm @ Expo

If you are a foodie, you know what a Michelin star means. And if you are a Dubai-based glutton, you’ve already eaten your way through the cuisines of 192 pavilions of Expo 2020 Dubai.

Well, we have some news to whet your appetites!

From February 8 to 17, three master chefs will create exclusive one-off menus at a custom-made site at Al Wasl Plaza. The operations will be overseen by Naim Maadad, founder and chief executive of Gates Hospitality.

The only catch? The event is invite-only.
Here’s who’ll be cooking a storm at Expo!

February 8 – From Morocco, via Germany with love

Chef Faycal Bettioui is one of the few Moroccan chefs to earn a Michelin star.
On February 8, he plans on showcasing the best of his Michelin-starred restaurant, Zur Krone and taking the lucky few on his journey from Morocco to the UAE.

February 15 – Behold the prince of plants

Where others see vegetables as little more than side dishes, Chef Rodrigo de la Calle from El Invernadero, Madrid, sees inspiration and the chance to do good. In the culinary scene, he is known for his revolutionary use of vegetables.

February 17– A Michelin superstar sharpens his knife

Belgian chef Gert De Mangeleer made culinary history when his Hertog Jan restaurant became the first to earn three Michelin stars in less than five years. The restaurant was hailed for its revolutionary farm-to-fork menu, with the head chef often seen on the farm with his sleeves rolled up.
