New parking rules and fines at Dubai’s BurJuman Mall: What shoppers need to know

Shoppers visiting BurJuman Mall in Dubai will now experience a more streamlined parking process, thanks to the launch of its new Smart Parking System. The mall has also introduced revised rules for exit, re-entry, and penalties, further aligning with Dubai’s shift toward digital, customer-friendly infrastructure.
Like several other malls in the city, BurJuman has adopted a ticketless, paid parking system powered by Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology. This upgrade allows for paperless, touch-free entry and exit, improving vehicle flow and reducing congestion in the parking areas.
Free Parking and grace period:
- The first 3 hours of parking are free for all guests.
- VOX Cinema visitors get an extra 3-hour grace period after validation.
- Parking is free on Sundays and public holidays.
- Payment can be made via card or cash at kiosks, but only card payments are accepted at exit gates.
- Boom barriers remain in place for enhanced control.
Updated Exit and Re-Entry Rules:
- Vehicles must exit within 15 minutes after payment or validation.
- Free re-entry is allowed only after six hours of exiting.
- Each additional hour beyond the free period is charged at Dh20 per hour or part thereof.
New Penalties:
- Overnight parking now incurs a Dh350 fine per day.
- Misuse of parking facilities or improper parking may result in a Dh250 fine per incident, and vehicles may be towed.
- The previous Dh200 fine for lost tickets no longer applies due to the digital system.
Other Restrictions:
- Private buses are not permitted in the parking facility.
- Parking remains exclusive to mall customers.
The mall is also making navigation easier for all drivers. Designated areas have been set aside for People of Determination and families.
