Planning a road or camping trip this UAE National Day weekend? Watch the skies – clouds and showers are on the forecast
The UAE is heading into the National Day weekend with a mix of cloudy skies, rising humidity and the possibility of light rainfall, according to the National Centre for Meteorology. Residents can also expect misty early mornings and fresh winds across parts of the country.
There’s a chance of light rain today (Friday). Winds will be light to moderate but may freshen at times, and humidity is expected to rise overnight into Saturday morning. Both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman will remain calm with slight seas.
Saturday brings more of the same, with cloud cover and the possibility of rain lingering over coastal and northern regions. Winds will shift from southeasterly to northwesterly and could reach up to 40 km/h at times, kicking up blowing dust in exposed areas. Humid nights may once again lead to early-morning mist. Seas will range from slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and subtle in the Sea of Oman.
On Sunday, conditions are expected to be fair to partly cloudy, with low clouds anticipated in the western parts of the country. Humidity will continue to build overnight, which could bring patches of mist to coastal and internal areas. Winds remain light to moderate, occasionally strengthening, with slight to moderate seas.
Monday will follow a similar pattern—fair to partly cloudy skies, low clouds in western areas and humid nights that may lead to morning mist. Light to moderate winds will swing from southeasterly to northwesterly, and seas will stay slight in both bodies of water.
By Tuesday, partly cloudy skies are forecast across the country, with low clouds developing over internal and coastal areas. Humidity will persist overnight into Wednesday, and winds will continue to be light to moderate, freshening at times. Sea conditions are expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
Residents are advised to keep an eye on the changing skies. With clouds, light rain and early-morning mist popping up across several areas, it’s a good idea to plan camping, picnics, barbeques and other outdoor activities with a little flexibility.
Whether you’re heading to the celebrations or simply enjoying the break, stay updated with the latest forecasts from the NCM and drive safely, especially during foggy mornings.
