Ramadan Nights in Dubai: Workshops, performances and heritage experiences revealed
The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority has announced the launch of its ‘Ramadan Nights’ programme, a citywide initiative celebrating Emirati culture, heritage and the values of the holy month.
The programme supports the ‘Ramadan in Dubai’ campaign under the umbrella of the Season of Wulfa, reinforcing family bonds and community connection while preserving local traditions.
Activities at Al Safa Art & Design Library
At Al Safa Art & Design Library, visitors can participate in interactive workshops and family-friendly experiences, including:
- Free Drawing Space inspired by Ramadan
- Ramadan Thoughts Wall
- Lantern decorating sessions
- Treasure Hunt adventures
- Traditional Ramadan majlis gatherings
Evening activities will feature henna art, Arabic calligraphy, perfume-making workshops, live music, and a Creative Market supporting local artists and entrepreneurs.
Heritage experiences at Al Shindagha Museum
Al Shindagha Museum, the UAE’s largest heritage museum, will host Ramadan Iftar majlis experiences with live cooking demonstrations by Emirati chefs, storytelling sessions, palm-inspired craft workshops, and poetry evenings exploring old Dubai’s social traditions.
Film screening at Etihad Museum
Etihad Museum will screen Mountain Boy, followed by a panel discussion featuring members of the film’s creative team.
Children’s workshops at Al Jalila Cultural Centre
At Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children, families can enjoy Islamic arts sessions, music workshops, henna design, games and traditional food experiences, reflecting the spirit of Al Wulfa, built around reflection, connection and blessings.
Through ‘Ramadan Nights’, Dubai Culture aims to strengthen community belonging and reinforce Dubai’s position as a global city rooted in heritage, tolerance and cultural exchange.
