Say goodbye to slow in-flight Wi-Fi as Emirates rolls out Starlink across its fleet
If you’ve ever tried to send a message mid-flight and watched that little loading wheel spin forever, good news. Dubai’s flagship airline, Emirates, is officially flipping the script.
The airline is officially rolling out Starlink Wi-Fi across its entire fleet, meaning ultra-fast, ground-level internet at 35,000 feet.
And yes, it’s free for everyone. No payment. No Skywards login. Just one click and you’re online.
The upgrade starts this month on Emirates’ Boeing 777s and will expand across 232 aircraft by mid-2027. The first Starlink-equipped plane, A6-EPF, is already on display at the Dubai Airshow, giving visitors a taste of the internet speeds that passengers will soon enjoy in the air.
What can you actually do with Starlink onboard?
Pretty much everything you do on the ground:
- Stream Netflix, YouTube, or football matches
- Hop on video calls
- Scroll, game, message, and post without lag
- Work at full speed
- Use your own device or the seatback screen; both are connected
Emirates is installing two antennae on each Boeing 777 and a massive three-antenna setup on every Airbus A380, an industry first, so everyone onboard can stay connected without speed drops.
Live TV over Starlink is also coming, first on personal devices and later on seatback screens starting December 2025.
Your Emirates flights are about to get a whole lot smoother, smarter, and more connected.
Goodbye buffering, hello high-speed sky internet.
