Abu Dhabi just scored a major global music moment. Shakira has been announced as the headline act for the second edition of the Offlimits music festival, returning to the capital this year.

The Colombian superstar will bring her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour to Etihad Park on Yas Island on April 4, leading a full-day, multi-stage, open-format festival that’s quickly cementing its place on the UAE’s live music calendar.

More international and regional artists are set to be revealed in the coming months, so expect the lineup to get even bigger.

Offlimits made a strong first impression last year, earning praise as a confident debut festival in Abu Dhabi. Its 2025 edition was headlined by Ed Sheeran, who delivered a stripped-back but visually striking performance enhanced by towering LED screens and a high-energy festival setup.

A familiar face in the UAE

Shakira’s upcoming appearance will mark her fourth performance in the UAE. She previously played:

• Dubai Autodrome (2007)
• Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi (New Year’s Eve 2008)
• du Arena / Etihad Park (2011)

Born in Barranquilla, Colombia, Shakira is one of the most successful Latin artists of her generation, known for blending pop, rock, and regional sounds. In 2023, she received the MTV Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, recognising her global influence and longevity in the music industry.

Her latest album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran (2024), marked a major comeback moment, while her most recent single Zoo featured in the animated film Zootopia 2 (2025).
