Sheikh Mohammed announces UAE Declaration of the Arabic Language
Now this will surely be a strong boost to the Arabic language.
The UAE Declaration of Arabic Language, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai was revealed in the UAE pavilion at Expo 2020 on December 19 in the presence of the Arab ministers of culture. It comes as a significant marker of the World Arabic Language Day and in tandem with the 22nd Session of the Conference of Ministers Responsible for Cultural Affairs in the Arab World.
A presentation was given by Her Excellency Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of the Culture and Youth and Chair of the 22nd Session of the Conference of Ministers Responsible for Cultural Affairs in the Arab World.
She spoke about the ongoing efforts of the Ministry of Culture and Youth in encouraging the use of the Arabic language among the next generation of the country and the presence of the language in the digital sphere.
The UAE Declaration of Arabic Language entails 10 principles. It aims to provide a comprehensive guide to institutions in Arab nations in the region on how to create a space that fosters the Arabic Language.
