The prestigious South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA)’s latest edition is all set to unfold in September this year. The south-Indian movie industries are coming together once again under one roof to celebrate the biggest movie night.
The SIIMA awards are constituted 11 years ago to celebrate and honour the best of talent in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada film industry.
Vishal Mahajan, Director, Truckers- the official host partner of SIIMA, said that although UAE has been the favorite country for SIIMA Awards, this year’s SIIMA is going to be special. Truckers will use local flavor and advanced technologies at the SIIMA Awards to take the audience to be in a different world. The South film industry and other celebs will huddle under one roof to celebrate the gems of South cinema. The event will be hosted in a grand manner in Dubai.
After the announcement, talking to the media Rana Daggubati said, “SIIMA is very special for me, where four large cinema industries (Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam) are coming together to celebrate their success. It’s now been 11 years since I have been associated with SIIMA. It’s good to see, where nowadays, south cinema and Bollywood are collaborating, and this is the true meaning of India for all of us.”
Mrunal Thakur expressed her feeling about her association with SIIMA for the first time. Mrunal said I am really excited to be part of SIIMA, which gives us a feeling that we are one, just one.
South Indian International Movie Awards, also known as the SIIMA Awards, reward the artistic and technical achievements of the South Indian film industry. It was launched in 2012 to appreciate filmmakers from across the South Indian film industries: Telugu cinema, Tamil cinema, Kannada cinema, and Malayalam cinema, and provide a platform to promote South Indian films in international markets.
The 11th edition of the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) will take place in Dubai on September 15th, and 16th at Dubai World Trade Center. The audience’s voting process, allowing them to select the best South Indian movies from the previous years, as well as outstanding technicians, will commence shortly. There is an immense craze for the awards and not only fans but also celebrities will wait eagerly for the awards function.
On the 14th of September, SIIMA will hold the SIIMA Business Awards, to facilitate the South Indian business community from the middle east region. This is SIIMA’s effort to recognize the talents and inspirational stories from the business community, which belongs to the south Indian region, and put their marks in the middle east market.
