Abu Dhabi is making outdoor walking more comfortable with its first fully air-conditioned walkway. Located in the Al Nahyan area near the Al Mamoura building, this innovative path maintains a cool 24°C temperature year-round, thanks to a high-tech cooling system embedded along the walkway.

Beyond climate control, the walkway offers a modern urban experience with retail outlets, cafés, and outdoor seating, allowing people to enjoy the space in any season. Its smart design lets in natural sunlight while keeping the cool air inside.

Launched by the Department of Municipalities and Transport, this project aims to enhance urban living and make Abu Dhabi’s public spaces more sustainable and livable, especially during the city’s intense summer heat.
