If you’re a vegetarian, you know that the fine-dining options in the city are somewhat limited (lest we be served another mushroom and truffle risotto).
That’s why, for plant-based eaters, the news that vegetarian fine-dining restaurant Avatara has opened its doors is particularly exciting.

Taking over the space formerly occupied by Trèsind Studio (take a look at Trèsind Studio’s new location here) in the Voco Hotel, Avatara is an Indian-fusion restaurant.

The licenced restaurant, overlooking the Sheikh Zayed Road skyline, is an intimate setting with only 24 seats offered per night. Lending itself to the personalised degustation experience, guests can expect small taster plates brought to their table straight from the chef’s mind.

Helmed by chef Rahul Rana, the elegant dishes are creative and combine modern culinary techniques with time-tested Indian dishes to create artistic masterpieces. With a focus on fresh ingredients that are ‘clean, pure and energy-containing’, the produce and dairy products are sourced from local farms.

The restaurant aims to prove that vegetarian food is not limited. “Our goal is to bring about change in the way people look at vegetarian food,” said chef Rahul Rana.
