TYMAL MILLS, BINURA FERNANDO SHINE AS UP NAWABS PICK UP THIRD STRAIGHT WIN
A supreme bowling effort from Sri Lankan international Binura Fernando and South African speedster Tymal Mills set up the UP Nawabs for their third straight win in Abu Dhabi T10 on Wednesday at Zayed Cricket Stadium. Fernando started the attack, and picked up two wickets for just 10 runs in his 2 overs, as he dismantled the opposition’s top order.
Meanwhile, the left-arm speedster Tymal took care of things in the death overs, picking up two wickets as well with just 11 runs in his two overs. The duo restricted the defending Champions New York Strikers to just 74/6 in 10 overs.
In chase, Rahmanullah Gurbaz continued his roaring form with the bat, scoring 31* runs in 21 balls to help his side chase down the total in just 6.1 overs. Andre Fletcher played the supporting role with the bat, smashing 18* runs in 6 balls as the Nawabs scripted a solid 9-wicket win.
Phil Salt, bowlers shine as Team Abu Dhabi return to winning ways
Team Abu Dhabi once again added a number to the win column as they picked up a comfortable win over Chennai Brave Jaguars. Opening the innings with the bat in 104-run chase, Phil Salt blasted an unbeaten 43 runs in 20 balls, smashing three sixes and four fours at a strike rate of 215, to help his side win the match.
Earlier, Team Abu Dhabi’s economical bowling helped them restrict the opposition for 103/5 in 10 overs. Despite skipper Thisara Perera scoring 45 runs in 20 balls, Mark Adair’s tight bowling kept the opposition shackled, and never allowed Chennai batters to find their footing. Eventually, the target was an easy one for Team Abu Dhabi to chase and they won the match with 8 wickets in hand and 5 balls to spare.
