UAE–China travel: New non-stop flights launched between Beijing and Abu Dhabi
One of China’s largest airlines has officially launched a new non-stop route to Abu Dhabi, strengthening air connectivity between the UAE and China.
Air China has announced a direct service between Beijing and Abu Dhabi, marking the first-ever non-stop flight linking the two capitals operated by a Chinese airline.
The new route operates four times a week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, using a Boeing 787 aircraft. The inaugural flight has already touched down in the capital, completing the journey in approximately nine hours and 40 minutes.
The service connects Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) with Zayed International Airport (AUH), further enhancing long-haul travel options between China and the Middle East. Abu Dhabi Airports welcomed the inaugural flight, highlighting the route’s role in strengthening the emirate’s position as a key global aviation hub.
The launch also marks Air China’s first international route of 2026, underscoring Abu Dhabi’s growing importance within the airline’s Middle East expansion plans.
Ahmed Juma Al Shamisi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Airports, said the new route enhances links between China and markets across the Middle East, Africa and Europe.
While Abu Dhabi already has flights to Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX), the new Air China service introduces a fresh airport pairing with Beijing Capital International Airport, meaning travellers can now access both of Beijing’s main international gateways directly from the UAE capital.
