UAE flight alert: Etihad, Air Arabia cancel services to some destinations

Travellers flying to or from the UAE on Friday, July 31, are being urged to check their flight status before leaving for the airport after Etihad Airways and Air Arabia cancelled several services to Gulf destinations.

Etihad has cancelled flights between Abu Dhabi and Bahrain, as well as EY653 (Abu Dhabi–Kuwait) and EY654 (Kuwait–Abu Dhabi) due to operational reasons. The airline said affected passengers are being assisted with alternative travel arrangements.

Air Arabia has also cancelled several flights, including services from Sharjah to Kuwait, Bahrain and Abha, along with a flight from Abu Dhabi to Kuwait.

Meanwhile, Emirates and flydubai continue to operate their published schedules, with no major disruptions announced.

Elsewhere in the region, Qatar Airways has suspended passenger flights to Bahrain, Erbil and Kuwait through July 31, while several international carriers, including British Airways, Lufthansa, KLM and Singapore Airlines, continue to adjust or suspend some Middle East services.

Passengers are advised to:

  • Check their flight status before travelling to the airport.
  • Monitor airline websites or mobile apps for updates.
  • Allow extra time in case of delays or schedule changes.
  • Ensure airlines have their latest contact details.

Airlines say schedules remain subject to change as they continue monitoring the regional security situation.
