UAE Ramadan 2026: Careem to match customer tips dirham-for-dirham for drivers and delivery captains
Ramadan is a time for generosity, where acts of charity, kindness, and sharing are amplified and believed to bring multiplied rewards. This year, Careem and Hala have introduced a limited-time “Tip Matching” campaign in the UAE, allowing customers to double their tips for Captains, without paying anything extra.
Running from February 18 to March 19, Careem will match every tip of Dh10 or more made after a ride, delivery, or Hala Taxi trip booked through the app.
So what does that mean?
- Tip Dh10: Your Captain receives Dh20
- Tip Dh25: Your Captain receives Dh50
And the best part? Careem covers the matched amount.
100% of tips go directly to Captains
Careem confirmed that 100% of all tips, including the matched portion, go directly to Captains, with funds transferred instantly to their Careem Pay accounts. This allows Captains to access or transfer their earnings to their bank immediately.
The initiative aims to support drivers and delivery Captains during Ramadan, when many continue working long hours while fasting.
Daily Iftar meals
In addition to tip matching, Careem and Hala will distribute daily Iftar meals to Captains across the UAE, ensuring those breaking their fast on the road can do so with a warm meal.
How to tip
Taking part is simple:
- Open or update the Careem app
- Book a ride (including Hala Taxi) or place an order via:
- Careem Food
- Careem Quik
- Careem Shops
- Careem Box
- Tip Dh10 or more after your trip or delivery
Careem will automatically match the tip amount.
The campaign reflects the spirit of generosity that defines Ramadan in the UAE, offering residents a simple way to make a meaningful difference during the holy month.
