UAE residents can travel visa-free to Armenia starting July 1

Planning a getaway to the Caucasus? UAE residents will be able to travel visa-free to Armenia starting July 1, 2025, under a new policy announced by Armenia’s Tourism Committee.

This is a major shift from the 2017 rule, which granted visa-free access only to UAE nationals, while residents needed visas on arrival.

Now, all UAE residents with at least six months’ validity on their residency visa will be eligible for visa-free entry, allowing them to stay in Armenia for up to 90 days within any 180 days. The move is part of Armenia’s broader visa liberalisation efforts across the Gulf and beyond.

Who Can Travel Visa-Free to Armenia?

The new visa-free rule applies to:

  • UAE residents (with at least 6 months of residency validity)
  • Nationals of GCC countries (UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar)
  • Residents of any GCC country
  • Residency holders of the EU, the Schengen Area, and the US

The policy is valid for travel related to tourism, leisure, or business.

Why Armenia?

Just a 3-hour flight from the UAE, Armenia is an ideal destination for short breaks. Direct flights are available via flydubai, Air Arabia, and Wizz Air.

Visitors are drawn to:

  • UNESCO-listed monasteries
  • Stunning mountain landscapes
  • Delicious and diverse cuisine
  • Warm hospitality
