Many of the country’s best-known outdoor destinations take a summer break, using the hotter months for maintenance, upgrades and preparations for a new season. Now, with autumn approaching, several familiar favourites have confirmed their return dates, while others are expected to reopen in the coming weeks.

From a multicultural village that brings the world to Dubai to a weekend market celebrating local makers, here are seven outdoor attractions to watch as the UAE’s cooler-weather season gets underway.

1. Dubai Crocodile Park

Reopening: September 15, 2026

One of the first seasonal attractions to return is Dubai Crocodile Park, which is reopening on September 15 after its summer closure.

The family-friendly wildlife destination is home to around 250 Nile crocodiles and offers visitors a closer look at the species through a Natural History Museum, an African lake-themed aquarium and a savanna-inspired landscaped area.

There is also a curio shop and dining outlets, making the attraction a relatively easy addition to a family day out. The park first opened in Dubai in 2023 and has since become a popular option for visitors looking for something beyond the city’s indoor entertainment attractions.

The park’s new season will be built around its conservation-focused experiences, with the new brand platform ‘Live More Wild Life’ highlighting its connection to wildlife and nature.

One of the new offerings is the Royal Safari Experience, a four-hour private guided tour for groups of up to 10 people. The premium experience includes private tours, reserved seating and VIP treatment, offering a more exclusive way to explore the park.

Beyond the new additions, the attraction remains known for its themed wildlife villages, safari drives, animal encounters and educational experiences. Its summer closure also allows work to continue on animal welfare, veterinary care and visitor facilities.

3. Global Village

Reopening: October 14, 2026, at 6pm

For many residents, the return of Global Village is one of the clearest signs that the UAE’s outdoor season is back.

The attraction has officially announced that its 31st season will open on October 14 at 6pm and continue until May 2027. This year’s theme is ‘A More Wonderful World’.

The familiar mix of multicultural pavilions, international food, shopping, live performances and amusement rides will return, alongside new additions designed to give visitors fresh reasons to explore the destination.

Whether the plan is an evening of street food, a search for unusual gifts or a family outing filled with rides and entertainment, Global Village remains one of Dubai’s most comprehensive seasonal experiences.

4. Dubai Miracle Garden

Reopening: October 2026; exact date to be announced

Dubai’s most colourful seasonal destination is also preparing for its return. Dubai Miracle Garden is expected to reopen in October for Season 15, although an exact date has not yet been announced.

The garden typically operates from October to May, transforming its expansive grounds into a display of large-scale floral installations, themed structures and elaborate arrangements. Its previous season featured more than 150 million flowers across approximately 72,000 square metres.

The summer closure is used for seasonal renovation and preparations for the next bloom, so visitors can expect the familiar floral setting to return with refreshed displays and experiences.

For now, the attraction’s official website lists October as the expected start of the new season and advises visitors to follow its channels for the confirmed reopening announcement.

5. The Ripe Market

Reopening: October 10, 2026

If your ideal weekend involves coffee, local shopping, casual food and a little time outdoors, The Ripe Market is one to add to the calendar.

The popular community market will return to Dubai Police Academy Park in Umm Suqeim on October 10, launching its 15th anniversary season. It will run until May 2, 2027, opening every Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 9pm.

The new season will bring together local farmers, homegrown brands, independent makers, food vendors and family activities. Visitors can expect a mix of fresh produce, artisanal products, live entertainment, workshops and outdoor experiences, with the selection of vendors changing from weekend to weekend.

The extended evening hours also make it a more flexible option for cooler-weather outings — whether that means a morning market visit, an afternoon with the children or dinner outdoors as temperatures drop.

6. Dubai Garden Glow

Reopening: Expected in autumn 2026

As daylight hours become more comfortable, Dubai’s evening attractions will also begin to return. Dubai Garden Glow, located next to Dubai Frame at Zabeel Park, is among the seasonal destinations expected to reopen in autumn.

The attraction is known for its illuminated installations and family-friendly evening setting. Its current concept combines two experiences: Dinosaur Park, featuring life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, and Fantasy Park, filled with large, imaginative sculptures and colourful installations.

7. Liwa International Festival

Held around Tal Moreeb, one of the UAE’s tallest dunes, the festival combines Emirati heritage, desert adventures, motorsport, traditional competitions, entertainment and family activities.

Known as ‘The Desert’s Grand Stage’, Liwa has become a major winter destination for visitors looking to experience a different side of the UAE. The festival’s mix of high-energy events, cultural experiences and open-air settings makes it particularly suited to the cooler months.
