WhatsApp makes disappearing messages better (I think)

As of now, you can turn on disappearing messages for individual chats and messages will be deleted in 7 days.

But soon, you’ll be able to have your messages disappear by default when starting a new chat thanks to the latest WhatsApp update.

You’ll also be to choose after how long they disappear: 24 hours, seven days, or 90 days.

The pro guide to becoming a WhatsApp ghost

To switch on disappearing messages by default, follow these steps:

>Go to WhatsApp Settings

 > Tap Account

 > Privacy

 > Default message timer and select a duration.

It’s not yet clear when the update will arrive, but given WhatsApp’s announcement, it will likely be with us very soon.
